On Saturday I mentioned a project I’m involved in that I’m fairly excited about, especially as I understand that my part of the project will be going up on the site today! I will link to it on Wednesday when I do my post on the project itself, and the artist plans to link back to that as well. Very exciting!!
This project required some prep work to carry off, I thought I would share a bit of that today. I’m used to doing a fair bit of tech work for theatre productions and this was really no different, other than that the performance would be outside and it’s starting to get damn cold. In fact, I do believe I swore a bit on Twitter…
The construction part of the project could take place indoors, however, and I chose a nice warm coffee shoppe a few towns over from where I planned to be scavenging for the project.
The card is quite heavy; my plan was to ‘dissect’ the hearts to use on an oversized tee shirt for the Scavenger Hunt part of the project, leaving behind jagged holes (therefore the craft scissors). I had to start the holes with a Swiss Army knife though.
And yes, I even bled for my art! not intentionally, but it did make for a dramatic effect when I photographed a bit for one line in the accompanying poem I wrote for the project
I finally got the hang of cutting the hearts out
And I’m pretty pleased with how they all turned out!
Then I had to affix them to the shirt…
I used double-sided mounting tape, which was a quick and efficient way to go.
Finally I could delay the inevitable no longer, it was time to get to the scavenging site I had in mind.
Can you see the frost on the blades of grass? did I mention it was freezing??
This will be opening a brand new category on the Scavenger Hunt… Dee, does this count as a power station? or do you want to go with electrical tower?
Target acquired… and then the real work was to begin!! and not the easiest part of that would be stripping all of these nice warm clothes off…
The post for Wednesday/Thursday is already scheduled; it will be the last time the Scavenger Hunt is directly shared with the HNT folk as that meme is shutting down at the end of the year and there are some special themes going on there the rest of this month. But of course it will continue to be a running theme for me on Wednesdays; I have several more “in the can” waiting to be posted!

Discussion (5) ¬
The dropping temps is one of the secondary reasons I stopped my scavenger hunt, you’re braver than I am! Looking forward to seeing what you came up with.
Oh, and just because Osbasso is ending HNT on his blog, that doesn’t mean we can’t continue. In fact, for the 1st Thurs in Jan I plan on doing an HNT as a passive-aggressive eff you to him
Heh, it actually wasn’t so bad in the sunlight once I got moving
But yeah, I see how things could shrivel up in the cold.
I started combining my WW and HNT fairly early on due to lack of response, though I do have regular friends now from both memes that check me out. Not sure yet what I’ll do with my Thursdays…
After discussion with Hylas, this is definitely an electrical tower/power pylon – not a power station. That’s because they’re transmission lines, not power generation equipment. Still a bloody awesome place to take a scavenger hunt photo, though!
