Wicked Wednesday: Erection in Progress
on 2012/07/25 at 00:00Did anyone else play with erector sets as a kid? I giggled every time I heard the word, and even concocted a pulley system to get some joined steel “girders” to “rise”… yes, I was deviant even back then
As I’ve often made mention, I have several scavenger notches “in the can” just waiting their turn to be shown. Even though it has nothing to do with the biking series, I went with this one this week as it was the first one that popped to mind when I saw Rebel’s prompt, “Caught in the Act.” Though it is certainly a danger of scavenging, and I’ve had my share of near misses, I do try to avoid actually being caught with my pants down… or shirt up, as the case may be!
However, with this particular notch, it was almost as if I was begging to be caught. There are very few construction sites one can actually access around here; most are fenced in to protect the public from injury. This particular site had always been more open but was also VERY public and heavily frequented by cops. Still, I had kept my eye on it and waited for an opportunity to present itself.
It shares a parking area with a 24-hour supermarket. I wandered in to check out the store late one evening, and noticed that though the construction site was lit up inside, it appeared that no one was actually working in it. I decided to do a recon with my camera, see how close I could get without being spotted, and see if I could finally score this notch.
As I worked myself closer, I was literally hiding beside piles of building materials and porta-johns, my heart in my throat, trying to get a bead inside the building to see if the coast was clear.
I even thought that perchance I would need to settle for a shot against the wall of the building…
… but oh what luck! it appeared to be empty in there.
And so I took my chance…
Coming out again, people were looking my way, so I pretended I was just going for shots of the building whilst giggling madly under my breath…
Another successful Dragon De-scaling accomplished! and so that makes notch #60 on the Scavenger Hunt! Sixty!!!!
I have a few more sites in store, so I’ll be back next week with some more public wickedness
Go see who else is being wicked here

Oh so naughty, sorry I haven’t been around. Xoxo
You’ve been missed! thanks for coming by *hugs*
I am in awe. And cackling madly at the erection comments, too. Go you! 60 is seriously fucking impressive
xx Dee
Heheh… thank you, Dee!
Not sure whether a new building, or old abandoned building would fulfill a fantasy more…but nice.
Stranded
There’s a lot to be said for new construction
Bis and I once “christened” a house under construction in his neighbourhood. Loved the smell of new wood and the airiness…
Wow, you have guts. Congrats on reaching 60
Thanks, eh
Erection in progress…LOVE IT!
Haha I had something totally different in mind when I spotted your title. Such a fun Scavenger Hunt entry this! And it gave me some ideas too
Thanks to all your inspiration, today I earned my gold badge
Rebel xox
LOL
Yaayy! proud to have provided the impetus
Just made me laugh. Well done you!
So funny, clever and just utterly brilliant!!! 60 what an amazing achievement largely on your own. You go girl!!!!
~MIa~ xx
Fitting title for this post, or just about any post in which you show off your lovely self! You’re responsible for so many erections that you might as well be a construction crew. Congrats on #60!
A commercial building across from a 24-hour supermarket. That’s impressive! We still haven’t found the opportunity to take pictures inside the house that is going up nearby ants is MUCH less heavily traveled.
The people watching you come out were probably just making sure that you weren’t trying to steal construction material.
